Lapis Homes is working for building-owner LIDA Homes on a project at 1159 View Street to add two additional 640 square feet (60 square meter) one-bedroom suites in the unfinished basement of 1159 View to bring the total number of apartments in the building to six.
This is the definition of adding gentle density, as the owner is not planning to change the size or height of the building.
The City of Victoria approved the development variance on October 4th, 2018. The owner is now working on engineering designs and a building permit with construction expected to start in 2019.
